The Physical Education program at Moriac Primary School is designed to provide students with a contemporary, engaging, and challenging curriculum that promotes physical activity, wellbeing, and personal growth. Our program encourages students to enhance their own health and safety, as well as that of others, through participation in a variety of movement experiences and physical challenges.

Physical Education is a key learning area that focuses on developing the movement skills, concepts, and strategies students need to participate confidently, competently, and creatively in a wide range of physical activities. Our lessons emphasise skill development, problem-solving, and decision-making, helping students build confidence and resilience while enjoying physical activity.

At Moriac Primary, we see Physical Education as a foundation for lifelong engagement in movement and sport. Students are supported to progress at their own pace, developing proficiency in movement skills and activities while also learning important personal, social, and cognitive skills. Movement is used as a powerful medium through which students practise teamwork, communication, decision-making, and self-management.

Throughout their Physical Education journey, students build habits and skills that contribute to their personal wellbeing, confidence, and ability to form respectful relationships. The knowledge, understanding, and dispositions gained through our program are designed to inspire ongoing participation in physical activity and support lifelong positive health outcomes.
